HOW TO REACH US
Chatakpur is located at a distance of around 16 kms from Jorebunglow that lies on Siliguri-Darjeeling road and 7 km from Sonada. About Air Route the nearest airport is Bagdogra. It is 80 km away and connects with Delhi, Guwahati and Kolkata. You need to go through the Hill Cart road and enter the jungle trail, in order to reach Chatakpur.
Note that you should not take a small car or even an Innova for Chatakpur. The last several kms is a boulder road and only vehicles like Sumo, Bolero, Jeep, etc. with good ground clearance can negotiate that .Also the last stretch of the road passes through jungles.
However, we even provide transport facilities from NJP/Bagdogra to Chatakpur for the tourists that have confirmed their booking in Dhanmaya Niwas Homestay Chatakpur.
BEST TIME TO VISIT CHATAKPUR
You can visit Chatakpur year round except in the monsoon season (July to mid September) when it is not possible to explore the forest. The tourist eco village resort remains closed during this time. Winter time between November to February can be extremely cold. So bring adequate winter clothing during this time.
